Makayla and Dallin’s Meridian, Idaho temple wedding was on a beautiful summer day in July. The Meridian Idaho temple is one of my favorite places to photograph weddings at! The temple grounds are always so beautiful and peaceful.
This lovely couple are both from the same area of Meridian, Idaho. They met at Rocky Mountain High School while in seminary class during their senior year. As a result of shutdowns during 2020, they had lots of “parking lot dates” where they got to know each other and become best friends. Dallin and Makayla both decided to serve missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. All throughout their missions they wrote to each other. The time came to reconnect after their missions were over and Dallin proposed soon after in the back of the Meridian Idaho Temple.
I love the way that Dallin and Makayla interact with each other. They are both so sweet and I absolutely loved getting to know them better during their engagement session, bridal session, and wedding day.
About two weeks before their wedding day, Makayla and Dallin did a bridal session with me at the Meridian Temple. Bridal sessions are highly recommended for couples that get married in the temple. Makayla and Dallin’s bridal session gave them the best lighting, since their session was scheduled during golden hour (most LDS brides + grooms exit the temple when the sun is at the harshest, brightest time). Doing the bridal session ahead of time made their actual wedding day stress-free since they had less photos that needed to be taken of the two of them.
The wedding ceremony inside Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints temples are not photographed; cameras aren’t allowed. So it’s always such an exciting time to have all the friends and family greet the bride and groom as they make their exit out of temple after getting married. After Makayla and Dallin exited the temple, we took pictures with everyone there. The weather was perfect that day, not too hot, for it being July!
Dress: Margene’s Bridal
HMU: Bride and Sisters
Groom’s Attire: Peterson’s Clothing
Flowers: Micole Mayfield, Brides N Bloom
Catering: Goodwood BBQ
Cake: Bride’s mom, Tammy Campbell
The reception took place later that evening at their church building. The groom and bride’s mothers decorated the room. Makayla’s mom even made the wedding cake. A family member did the ceiling draping. So much talent in that family, I tell you! The details were perfect.
They served BBQ catered dinner from Goodwood and had little jar servings of pie with a soft-serve ice cream machine. Makayla loves dancing to country music and changed into a more comfortable dress mid-way through so she could really get down and party! Huge congratulations to Dallin and Makayla on their beautiful wedding at the Meridian Idaho Temple!
