I loved getting to know Amber and Matt during their engagement shoot at Bogus Basin last summer. They are silly, fun, and my cheeks hurt from laughing so much by the end of their session.
One of the reasons I love weddings so much is that no two are ever the same—each couple brings their own unique story, and Amber & Matt’s Boise Train Depot wedding was no exception.
Amber and her wedding crew got ready at a cozy Airbnb near downtown Boise. Instead of traditional matching robes, they took a creative approach, inspired by the movie Risky Business! Her bridesmaids and bridesman wore white button-up shirts, boxers, socks, and sunglasses—it was such a fun and unique way to start the day. Of course, I had to play Old Time Rock & Roll to set the mood!
Once everyone was ready, I took on an unexpected role—chauffeur! (Adding that to my resume, lol.) I helped drive Amber and her crew to the Boise Train Depot, where she slipped into her stunning gown from B.B. Bridal with the help of her mom.
Amber and Matt chose not to do a first look, so the moment they locked eyes at their outdoor ceremony was nothing short of magical. With clear blue skies as the backdrop, they exchanged heartfelt vows in front of their loved ones, making their Boise Train Depot wedding a truly unforgettable experience.
One of my favorite details from their wedding was Amber’s bouquet. She designed and created all of her wedding flowers herself—which is so impressive! Her bouquet held a special touch—a photo locket in memory of her father, who passed away several years ago.
Instead of a traditional wedding cake, Amber and Matt opted to cut and share pie during their reception, which was such a fun and personal twist!
One of the most unforgettable moments of the night? Amber surprising everyone by performing the entire Beastie Boys song “Paul Revere”—talk about a bride with skills! The dance floor was packed as they celebrated the night away with their closest friends and family.
“Matt & I will forever be grateful to Julia for capturing our wedding day so perfectly. She and her assistant Emily, went above and beyond to give us exactly the photos we were looking for! Julia is undeniably talented and it shows through her work, attitude, and personality. She made everybody feel confident, comfortable, and relaxed in front of the lens— which isn’t easy to do in an otherwise stressful day! We plan to book with Julia again & again in the future when we start a family. She truly was a highlight of our wedding day!”
Amber and Matt, it was an honor to be part of your Boise Train Depot wedding! I hope these memories bring you joy for years to come.
