How they met:
Amber is originally from San Francisco, CA and Matt is from Anchorage, Alaska. Amber was offered a scholarship to University of Alaska and she moved there when she was 18. Matt and Amber met in a macroeconomics class on the very first day of school. After many trips to the Student Union for Chinese food lunches, and staying up late to study for midterms, Matt and Amber became best friends. These college sweethearts became inseparable ever since! That friendship turned into something more and before Amber even realized it, Matt was convincing her to move to Boise, Idaho with him. Amber says it was the Best. Decision. Ever.
How he proposed:
Fast forward 5 years later, they’ve bought a home together, travelled, and adopted two dogs (Axel & Ammo). They’ve made new friends, started new careers, and have fallen more in love with each other every day.
In July of 2020 they went back to Alaska to go fishing and visit friends. They took a boat out one night and Matt proposed in the middle of the lake! Amber thought he was going to drop the ring into the water! They are both so excited for their upcoming wedding in October at the Boise Train Depot!

We headed to Bogus Basin!
Amber and Matt hired another engagement photographer and Amber wasn’t too please with the photos she received. So this session was their round two of engagement photos. Matt demonstrated his husband-material when he agreed to do another round of photos! 🙂
Bogus Basin was the perfect spot to do their engagement session. The sunset, the crisp-clean air, and the views of the mountains were the perfect backdrop. Matt and Amber’s infectious smile, silly jokes, and laughs had my cheeks hurting from smiling so much by the end of the session! I can’t wait to document their wedding in October!

Beautiful photos and an awesome love story ♥️
