Redfish Lake is a gem nestled in Idaho’s stunning Sawtooth Mountains and it was the perfect backdrop for one of my most memorable family sessions of 2024! Photographing close friends always adds a special touch, and this session was no exception. Redfish Lake’s iconic views provided the perfect blend of rugged and serene for this family’s story to shine through in every frame.

Their two boys were the definition of fun and energy. Whether skipping rocks, running along the sandy shore, or sharing doggy kisses, their personalities lit up every shot.

Sammy: The One-Eyed Star

Of course, we can’t forget Sammy, their lovable dog who added a unique charm to the session. With his lovable personality, he was a joy to photograph. Sammy lost his eye due to an eye condition that required it to be removed. But he hasn’t lost a beat since his surgery! He still loves to chase after a stick, especially if it’s been thrown into the water. Sammy reminds us all how pets are truly family.

Why Redfish Lake?

Redfish Lake holds a special place in my heart. We go camping there as a family every year, usually at outlet campground. This spot is VERY popular, and we always feel like we’ve win the lottery with getting a camping spot there. The clear glassy water, breathtaking mountain views, and golden light of the sunset make it a dream location for family photography sessions.
