Ashlyn and Tyler’s Springtime Bridal Session in the Foothills

As a Boise wedding photographer, I’m constantly reminded of the natural beauty Idaho has to offer. From it’s rugged landscapes to its vibrant seasonal wildflowers, this state is a dream for capturing love stories. One such story was Ashlyn and Tyler’s springtime bridal session which took place in the breathtaking foothills above Lucky Peak.

With wildflowers in full bloom and the golden glow of the sunset, this session was the perfect combination of romance, elegance, and Idaho charm.

Why the Foothills above Lucky Peak?

Lucky Peak is one of my favorite locations! It’s also a favorite for many Boise wedding photographers. During springtime, the foothills come alive with lush greenery and bursts of colorful wildflowers. Lucky Peak lake, the trails, open fields, and panoramic views create a backdrop that is both romantic and timeless.

For Ashlyn and Tyler’s session, the foothills provided a stunning mix of vibrant yellow wildflowers. The soft, golden glow of sunset added warmth and depth to the photos, making every frame feel magical!

Ashlyn and Tyler: The Perfect Couple

From the moment I met Ashlyn and Tyler, I knew we had an instant connection. They brought so much joy, fun, and energy to their bridal session!

The couple met on the date app Mutual. Their first date was actually a blind date at Eagle Island park. The date was a hit, so they went clubbing the rest of the night. (lol, just kidding.) Tyler proposed at Eagle Island Park on December 13th. The couple married in the Meridian Idaho Temple on June 1st, 2024.

Ashlyn looked absolutely radiant in her form-fitted gown. Her veil added a touch of elegance and seemed to float effortlessly in the spring air. Tyler, dressed in a classic dark suit, brought a sophisticated yet relaxed vibe that perfectly complemented Ashlyn’s look.

Together they were every photographer’s dream come true. Whether they were holding hands, frolicking in the field, or gazing into each other’s eyes, every moment felt authentic and heartfelt.

The Session: Wildflowers, Sunsets, and Romance

We began the session by hiking together up the trail to get to the location. When we arrived at the spot, they both changed into their wedding attire in the changing tent I had brought along. Ashlyn’s mom came along- she was such a huge help too!

The bright sun shined as they did their first look. They both embraced as they saw each other for the first time in their wedding clothes.

As the sun dipped lower and then eventually disappeared behind the mountains, the golden hour light created a soft, dreamy glow. The peacefulness of these moments of taking their photos in the foothills perfectly captured their love story and the beauty of Idaho in spring.

Why Bridal Sessions Are a Must-Have

Bridal sessions are an incredible opportunity to celebrate in a more relaxed and intimate setting. Unlike the wedding day, there’s no rush- just you, and your partner, and the chance to create stunning portraits that you’ll cherish forever.

Doing a bridal session also helps you to have less stress on your wedding day by freeing up space on your wedding timeline. Doing your wedding portraits separately from the wedding day timeline will ease up on your schedule and free up so much time!

As a Boise wedding photographer, I love helping couples choose locations that reflect their personalities and tell their unique story. Whether is the foothills of Lucky Peak, or another beautiful Idaho setting, there’s no shortage of amazing places to capture your love.

Ashlyn and Tyler- thank you for trusting me to capture such a special moment of your journey. Your love and connection were truly inspiring, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you guys!
